Carlos Bocai is a designer and educator from Rio de Janeiro based in New York, currently a Design Director at Base – previously at Jones Knowles Ritchie, &Walsh and Gretel. He's worked at studios worldwide, such as Atolón de Mororoa in Montevideo, and TUUT in Rio. Carlos is also the half of cbjbworks with Julia B Aguiar — an everywhere based creative practice. Alongside Julia, he teaches the course “Decoding Identities” at Aprender Design. Carlos studied at Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro and Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem.

His work applies systematic thinking to create engaging visual solutions across all platforms. He has participated on projects for clients like Nike, Apple, Google, Snapchat, Target, MTV and Knoll. His work has been recognized by The One Club For Creativity, Brasil Design Award and multiple editions of the Latin American Design Awards.
